If you missed church yesterday, I am sorry. I hope whatever you were doing was wonderful, because you missed an opporunity to hear an AMAZING message preached by my husband. Now, yes, I realize that sounds extremely biased coming from me. But get over it. It’s truth. He was excited to preach God’s Word yesterday. The reason for his excitment– CHOOSING TO STAND, it’s how the Kingdom should look! (Lucky for you, our church website has the audio recording of his messages each week. Go to http://soma-church.com/soma-videos/soma-messages/choose-jan-6-27/
He started off by sharing with us Ephesians 6:13 which says “Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm.” His sermon was all about STANDING for what God wants rather than bowing to what Satan and others would have you to do.
He shared Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego’s story of not bowing to King Nebuchadnezzar’s idol which can be found in Daniel 3.
Here are a few of the questions God pressed into my heart from Adam’s message:
- What are you gonna do when everyone else bows down? (vs 5)
- What are you gonna do when Satan gives you a second chance to bow? (vs 15)
- Will you choose to say God is able? And are you willing to make the “but even if He doesn’t…” kind of statements? (vs 17-18)
- Will you choose to let God show His power through your fire? (vs 23-25)
One quote I would like to share with you from Adam’s message is “The world around us most clearly sees us when we are STANDING in the fire.”
I am CHOOSING TO STAND.
