Today, on the way home from Kroger, while Andrew was listening to his favorite CD ‘Awake’ by Skillet, we had a great discussion over the song ‘One Day Too Late’. If you have not heard it, stop reading now and listen.
The premise of the song is to live your life without regret and to make the most of every moment.
Now this topic is fresh for both me and my son becuz he has a good friend in his Kindergarten class that’s mom is very close to death becuz of cancer. We have talked the situation over many times, he and I. And it is hard to think about a little boy having to go thru the rest of his life without his mama!
And after our talk, I am striving to do as the song says…
Today, I’m gonna try a little harder
Gonna make every minute last longer
Gonna learn to forgive and forget
‘Cause we don’t have long
Gonna make the most of it
Today, I’m gonna love my enemies
Reach out to somebody who needs me
Make a change
Make the world a better place
Because tomorrow could be one day too late.
Now you don’t have to be a momma for this to challenge you. You could be a wife, daughter, friend, mentor… Shoot, as long as you are a child of God, we should all be striving to make to most of every moment God gives us.
